The 6 types of government are:

  • Anarchy
  • Democracy
  • Dictatorship
  • Federation Controlled
  • Corporate Controlled
  • Independent

A star system's government type dictates a number of criteria including:

  • How many (and of what type) law enforcement officers patrol the star system
  • Whether the local law enforcement may be bribable
  • Penalties for being caught smuggling
  • What items, if any, are illegal to smuggle
