Not all solar systems have Law Enforcement officers.
Each of the 5 non-anarchic types of galactic government have their own
level and amounts of Law Enforcement officers working within their borders.
The majority of these officers will patrol closely to the known planets within the star system, and take a very dim
view of any player who has a legal status of anything but clean.
A players legal status can rise due to several reasons:
- Firing upon another player's ship, except in retaliation (auto-return fire)
- Firing upon a law enforcement officer (a very large offence)
- Smuggling illegal items to/from a planet
- Carrying out assassinations requests
- Attempting to bribe a law enforcement officer
- Dumping goods near to inhabited planets
